Have a Squeaky Christmas! / Squeak'owych Świąt!

Skończyłam Świątecznego Squeaky'ego! Yay!
Co prawda czułam już oddech boga deadlajnu na moim karku, więc musiałam odpuścić sobie dopieszczanie cieniowania i ogólnie parę innych rzeczy, w których widzę niedociągnięcia, ale i tak jestem zadowolona z rezultatu.

I have finished Christmas Squeaky! Yay!
I have to admit I felt the Deadline God's breath on my neck, so I had to skip polishing the shading and some other things, where I see my deficiencies, but I'm happy of the result anyway.

Muszę przyznać, że jest to pierwsza figurka, w którą włożyłam tyle od siebie - moje umiejętności "tworzenia" z greenstuff'u nie są może powalające, ale wystarczające już tak. Udało mi się dorobić opaskę z rogami, lampki, świecący Rudolfowy nosek na sznurku oraz wór z prezentami, kożuszek przy kapturze i same prezenty. Z brodą i wyrównaniem wzoru na tarczy pomógł mi Ristul, bo obawiałam się, że sknocę i cały misterny plan pójdzie w... niepamięć.

I have to admit, it's the first miniature, I've contributed so much to - my skills in "creating" in greenstuff are not stunning, but they're proved to be enough. I managed to make a antler headband, Christmas lights, shining Rudolf's nose on a string and a bag of gifts, fur on the hood and the presents. Ristul helped me with the beard and even the pattern on the shield, because I was afraid I'll ruin the whole miniature and the concept.

Malowanie, jak pisałam wcześniej, okazało się wyzwaniem, ale takim, które z chęcią podjęłam. Myślę, że sporo nauczyłam się przy odblaskach nosa i lampek choinkowych. Dzisiaj widzę, że powinnam była pogłębić cienie - no cóż - następnym razem ;)
Nie mniej jednak największą atrakcją i zaskoczeniem dla mnie samej była próba zastosowania techniki "freehand'u" na tarczy zawieszonej z tyłu siodła. Postanowiłam namalować tam zimowo - świąteczny krajobraz i o dziwo - nawet mi wyszedł!

Painting this, as I wrote earlier, was a challenge for me, but I rose to it gladly. I think I've learned a lot while painting the reflections of the red nose and Christmas lights. Today I see I should've deepen the shadows, but oh, well - next time ;)
Nevertheless the greatest highlight and a surprise for myself was the attempt of freehand technique on the shield hang on the back of the saddle. I decided to write a wintery-holiday scenery there and well - it turned out nice!

Zatem okazuje się, że warto uwierzyć w siebie i zaryzykować - choćby dla własnej satysfakcji!

So it turns out it is worth it to believe in oneself and take a risk - even for your own satisfaction!
